Travel

places and things

Often referred to as the most European of the South American cities, Buenos Aires certainly did not dissapoint visually.  This was my first trip to South America and I was shooting on a Nikon D200.  I love the energy of the city and the Argentine peeps.  Also fell in love with steak dinners and bottles of red wine for ridiculously cheap.  Unfortunately I lost a lot of the images from this trip in a horrific hard drive failure.   Despite the tragedy I was able to recover some good ones.

This gallery is of the times I was able to spend outside of San Juan Del Sur.  Composed mostly of weekend trips up and down the Pacific Coast when we didnt have any classes with the kids. Mostly a lot of buses which took us  through Rivas, Granada, and the capital Managua.

After graduating college my friend Dyani Mak was travelling around central America and ended up in a beautiful little town called San Juan Del Sur.  After falling in love with the place she began living with a local family and started teaching English to them as a way of contributing.  Pretty soon she had half the neighborhood kids over for lessons and all decided they would need a bigger work area.   So began  the Barrio Planta Project.

Every summer the school holds workshops and I went down to help the kids with a photography class.

Spent a long time wandering around this market.

A couple of shots through the open windows on the train.
